Layers of Holes refers to the idea of the inner human terrain where layers of memory, opinion and lived experience overlap. It is here that these layers fluxuate in opacity and contain opening and closing apertures that are in an ever-changing state. The expansion and contraction coalesces intimately and gives shape to an individual’s personality and world view.
When observing the paintings, the deliberate overlapping of translucent paint renders an effect of visual, effervescent movement. The kinetic experience is adjacent to the optical energy of Op Art but without the roller coaster.
